A 90s French House classic becomes a “sample” of its own in the form of Basada’s latest single.
I never thought I’d see the day when this song would be sampled but nothing is off limits these days. Our good friends at samples.fr put us onto this recent rework of Stardust’s Music Sounds Better With You. The original itself is sample heavy, as was a lot of 90s French touch music but that didn’t deter Basada from having a go. The riff is ever-so-slightly different, similar to how Vanilla Ice ever-so-slightly changed the bass line for Ice Ice Baby but it still retains the uptempo mood. I anticipated a dislike towards this but I actually like it. I don’t know how much of that is due to the retention of the original but I don’t hate it. The video’s nowhere near as cool though, but how could it be?
