Bound 2 is one of the standout tracks from Yeezus and has even been mentioned alongside the infamous phrase “old Kanye“. For some, it might just be a loop but that’s the kind of soundscape producers like Beat Gates eat for breakfast and that’s exactly what he did (in a metaphorical/musical sense anyway). Treating it like a blank canvas, Beat Gates throws on a slow rhythm with some knocking percussion and a tambourine-tinged snare. Just what the loop doctor ordered – a much needed drum beat.
