Leo Napier gets the remix treatment by Le Wanderer on latest single Before I Go Away.
A move from the US to Ladbroke Grove may puzzle some but there’s no mistaking Leo Napier’s vocal qualities. The US-born London-based singer has made a bit of a name for himself, lending his talents to Gramatik’s Native Son and now he looks to embark on his solo career with a debut EP in Autumn. Before I Go Away already has a successful remix under its belt by future funk act GRiZ but now it’s been reworked all over again thanks to Le Wanderer. The blunt electro leads of the chorus mix with the R&B-style drums of the verses, undulating like Leo’s dark lyrical humour. Speaking on the EP itself, Leo said, “I never planned to stick the 5 tunes together and call it an EP. But somehow these songs feel cohesive. It’s a controlled chaos.”
