Swedish singer/rapper Neneh Cherry will release her first solo album in over 16 years with production work from Four Tet and a guest appearance from Robyn.
When Neneh Cherry made herself known with her album “Raw Like Sushi”, it looked like Sweden (and Europe) might have had a chance to stand up alongside the US in hip hop standings. But since her 1996 album “Man”, apart from a few collab projects with trip hop band CirKus and jazz group The Thing, there hasn’t been a single solo release. Until now. The Swedish singer/rapper will be releasing a brand new album early next year via indie Norwegian label, Smalltown Supersound. She has enlisted the help of Four Tet for the production and the LP will also feature efforts from RocketNumberNine and a guest spot from Robyn. This has the makings of being an early album of the year contender in 2014.
