All that was missing from this majestic performance was Clyde Stubblefield playing out the Funky Drummer break himself, but we’ll make do with the record. On Sunday, DJ Spinna played at his yearly Legendary Wonder-Full Party in DC and Stevie Wonder graced the gig with his presence. If his appearance was enough, he decided to sing the classic “I Wish” over the Funky Drummer break as spun by Spinna. Take a moment to absorb everything in. A real mix of old classics and “newer” technology.
