UK producer Vegyn is our One To Watch.
A recommendation from Zero 7 is enough to warrant a listen and that is exactly what I did when I saw their shout out on Facebook a while back. Vegyn is a producer from London and when he’s not posting about his favourite “dream music beatmakers” on Tumblr, he’s making dreamy music of his own. There are only a couple of tracks on his Soundcloud so far but Fingers is by far the best to date. His experimentation with haunting vocal stretching and atmospheric sounds make for a trippy composition, diverse in its layers. His other track, “not phased”, is more “conventional” (for want of a better word) thanks to an uptempo drum break and vocal chopped melody. The current crop of Soundcloud/Bandcamp producers have been pushing sonic boundaries for a while now and Vegyn can surely be added to this list.
