London MC/producer Wize spits some lyrical fire over a dusty groove called Session 1.
Wize has done it again. Taken from “The Guide To Summer ’13” (out 1st July) is “Session 1”, a fantastic dusty track with all the character of an early 90s jam with its crackling drum beat and lo-fi Rhodes piano sample. That doesn’t sound like the kind of vibe you’d expect from a UK producer generally, but that may teach you not to assume things in music. However, Wize takes his skills a step further by rapping over the beat, rhyming like a veteran. His quickened pace of flow is controlled to near perfection, to the point where you’ll be picking up on the wordplay over and over as you replay the track. And you will.
