Bloomsbury book series 33 1/3 are set to publish books about classic albums from the likes of Kanye and Dilla.
Never heard of 33 1/3? Well, they’re “a series of short books about a wide variety of albums, by artists ranging from James Brown to the Beastie Boys”. The series was originally started by Founding Series Editor David Barker at Continuum in 2003 before moving it over to Bloomsbury.
To mark their 10 year anniversary, 33 1/3 will be focussing their attentions on classic albums. The albums in question will be courtesy of Kanye West’s My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy (Kirk Walker Graves), Danger Mouse’s The Grey Album (Charles Fairchild), and J Dilla’s Donuts (Jordan Ferguson Richard). I’ll be honest, they had me at Dilla.
According to AllHipHop.com, there will also be 33 1/3 books on Michael Jackson’s Dangerous amongst others with the new books ready for publishing next autumn. But it’ll be worth the wait, I’m sure.
