SONG FOR SUNDAY #36: Jamiroquai – Seven Days In Sunny June

Seeing as it’s June and now officially summer, we’ve chosen Jamiroquai’s Seven Days In Sunny June as our Song For Sunday.

Riding around a massive garden on a hover boat, mopeds and helicopters with friends, wearing wide variety of hats. That sounds like the kind of thing Jay Kay would do and that’s exactly what happened in the video for Seven Days In Sunny June. The track, taken from Jamiroquai’s fifth studio album Dynamite, is a classic tale of unrequited love told during seven days in June. Unlike their more electronic songs from both this album and their previous LP, A Funk Odyssey, this one harks back to their early acid jazz days, a time a lot of fans wanted back.
