SONG FOR SUNDAY #50: Seal – If I Could

Seal’s If I Could is our 50th Song For Sunday.

Happy 50th to our Song For Sunday feature! After hearing a complete massacre of Kiss From A Rose on The X Factor (UK), I had to cleanse my eardrums and put on Seal’s second eponymous album and being my favourite album of all time, the experience was a pleasure. If I Could is the antepenultimate track on the album and sees Seal duet with Joni Mitchell. The song talks about an unknown conflict between Seal and another party. The production is stripped way back, as are the lyrics, and the overall mood is an odd mixture of melancholy and resolution. Goes well with this UK storm that’s about to it.

  1. This is an amazing song, thanks for posting it! This is one of my favorite albums of all time as well. I think this was one of the best of the 90s.
