SATURDAY MATINÉE: Amp Fiddler At The Red Bull Music Academy

Amp Fiddler talked to The Red Bull Music Academy back in 2003 and it’s our feature presentation on this week’s Saturday Matinée.

In hip hop terms, Amp Fiddler is often seen as “the guy who gave Dilla a MPC” but he’s so much more than that. Transcending the worlds of funk, soul and dance music, he’s probably best known for his work with Parliament and Funkadelic between 1985-1996. Back in Cape Town in 2003, he spoke to The Red Bull Music Academy about his love for Parliament and how he got together with funk master George Clinton, his relationship with Dilla and his musical background, coming from the home of Motown, Detroit.
