VIDEO: Artists On The Maschine

Native Instruments shot a video of some artists’ opinions on their USB controller, the Maschine.

For the past couple of decades, the MPC has been the most popular all-in-one sampler on the market. Having gone through a variety of iterations since the MPC60 was introduced in 1988, it is now experiencing stiff competition from its USB/MIDI counterparts, notably the Ableton Push and the Native Instruments Maschine. Although MPCs have launched a number of MIDI controllers in the past few years, Maschines offer a lot of unique features. In this video from NI, a number of producers including Brook D’Leau of J*DaVeY, Che Pope and Ski Beatz talk about the reasons why they use the Maschine and how it has improved their work flow. I must admit, being an Akai user myself (and the owner of a SP-303), they did look pretty enticing.

UPDATE: The video has been taken down but you can stream one featuring Maroon 5 below.
