Sample Ideas: Guitar Stems From Slash, Eddie Van Halen & Others

Looking for some top quality guitar samples? How about some from rock legends Slash, Eddie Van Halen and John Frusciante?

An overlooked choice of instrumental sample in hip hop is the guitar, possibly because it’s so hard to find an isolated solo in a track or an authentic sound lick from a sample pack. Thanks to Open Culture and some generous uploaders on YouTube, there are a collection of stems from classic rock tracks such as RHCP’s Under The Bridge, Clapton’s While My Guitar Gently Weeps and your drunk uncle’s favourite Sweet Child O’ Mine.

Stream Slash’s guitar track from Sweet Child O’ Mine and check out the rest at Open Culture.

  1. Killer samples are where u find dem…. Most beat producers are lazy or simply don’t know how to chop like the legend DJ Premier, into small unrecognized chunks.. And simply make new melodies from the original source… Sampling is a art form like kung fu = martial art or the art of van gogh or Rembrandt or Picasso in there art u find samples of the masters who proceeded them…. Only the trained eye can reconize it as well it should be…. When sampling is mastered only the golden ears or trained listener can reconize it…. All keyboards play sampled loops of prerecorded notes… Roland sp users pick ya weight up and put in the works.. Take what u need from these words and grow..”. Sincerely iLLgod. The myth the Legend .. One luv
