Thanks to Rue Delphine aka rue_stars for putting me onto this. Project Since I Left You is a reimagining of The Avalanches’s Since I Left You, an influential album known for its extensive use of samples. The project was headed by Nickster who I wrote about a while back after his version of Face to Face but with “newer” samples. Here’s what he had to say about the project:
I went ahead with this project after a few people commented on my Frontier Psychiatrist with Newer Samples video saying they’d love to hear something like that but with the entire Since I Left You album. This project follows the same general rules; taking each song and recreating it with different/newer samples. This took around a year to make, and I’m so happy to finally have it out. Huge thank you to all the artists who participated.
