How Did I Miss That: Question – The Look Back

Better late than never, eh? You’re now vibing to the dope ass instrumentation of Southern Calfornian beatsmith who goes by the name of Question.

On one hand, I feel like it’s too hard to believe a track like this came out two years ago.  On the other, however, I’m reminded that great music is often timeless and that’s exactly what The Look Back is: timeless.  The man responsible for this aural masterpiece is called Question, straight out of Southern California with some of the illest jazz breaks you’ll ever hear.  Originally featured on the compilation album entitled Introducing Mellow Dois in 2011, this sensational track is unmistakably mellow but it has such a brilliant swing to it; rocking you back and forth like a new-born babe. What I love the most about this track is how buttery smooth the bass is and how the piano flips act as the morning dew with it sounding so fresh, vibrant, and beautiful.  The percussion is solid and slick, giving the track that wonderful bounce.  This track should definitely be on your hip-hop playlist if it isn’t already but don’t feel too bad about not hearing this earlier.  It flew under our radar as well… or rather we just weren’t tuned into the right frequency. Either way, take a bow Question. This is magnificent work.
