Thysenterprise – Living Silence (Early Works Revisited & Re-Recorded)

“For anyone who knows Reinier, they know this is his one and only truth.”

Dutch multi-instrumentalist Thysenterprise (real name Reinier Thijs) has collected some of his early works and refashioned them into a project called Living Silence. The tracks come from 2010–2011 and feature Thijs playing alto sax, tenor sax, clarinet, AND piano (he had a couple of guys play double bass and drums; so lazy!!) and the result is gorgeous.

From the opening track, I Just Wanted To Say (Alleen Nog Dit), the album bursts with energy and proceeds to wax and wane between softer tracks like A Boat, With the Name of a Girl I Knew, Sailed Away and heavy compositions like Erasmusbrug with its heart-thumping drums and tense sax play.
