De La Soul and The Roots perform live together on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon.

When two groundbreaking hip hop groups like De La Soul and The Roots take the stage together, your full attention is required. You should also take special notice at the fact that they performed the classic “A Roller Skating Jam Named ‘Saturdays’” and jazzed it up even more. However, De La opened proceedings with a funky and flawless rendition of Jenifa (Taught Me), including meticulous DJing from Maseo. Then of course, it was all wrapped up with “Saturdays”, which sounded as fresh as a daisy (all puns intended). To know both groups haven’t fallen off in over 20 collective years in the game together is a joy to behold.
