Tropes – Pure Intent

tropes-pure-intent

Like lo-fi gritty loops? Then you’ll love Tropes’ Pure Intent, featuring rhyme flips of Q-Tip, Nas and Kanye.

We’ve grown accustomed to Knx and his audibly unkempt beats but his creative monopoly on the craft may be loosening as Tropes’ EP “Pure Intent” entered the stage a couple of days ago. Featuring shrill low-fi soul loops, Tropes threw on some high profile raps from the likes of Q-Tip, Nas, Kanye and Mos Def. With the way Tropes output is so frequent (he’s released 5 EPs since July), it wouldn’t surprise me that much if this actually was Knx. But I’ll quit with the comparisons. This guy’s work deserves props on its own merit.

  • ugh

Knx isn’t the only guy making lo-fi remixes of rap tracks. Jesus christ.
