Phonosaurus’ Astrid Engberg releases a video for her upcoming sophomore release Poetry Is Gone.

We’ve been keeping an eye on Danish singer Astrid Engberg. Her debut EP with Phonosaurus Records, Life Is Gone, was a vibrant mix of hip hop, jazz and blues and this aesthetic has been carried forward to her new album, Poetry Is Gone. Out on 7th May, Astrid has allowed three tracks for streaming on her Bandcamp, where you can also pre-order it in full. The “world music” tag is overused far too often but that might actually be a good description for the three tracks, as you get a well rounded feel for the music; it doesn’t seem to stay in one place. As for the video, it has a Western setting, with the usual dark and dingy visuals you’d expect from that period and the classic card game but then things get a bit… strange.
