If you own a Mac and the DM1 drum machine app on iOS, you’re in for a treat.
Last year, Parisian developers Fingerlab put together a wonderful app called DM1, an all-in-one drum machine originally for iOS. The features included 86 produced drum kits, mastered at in-house Fingerlab Sound Studios, a multi-touch matrix step sequencer, an integrated mixer page, automation, quantization and time signature capabilities, the ability to export your audio creations and much more. They went on to win the 2012 iPad Developer Showcase Award for their efforts but they’re not stopping there. Today, they announced they have ported the app to Mac OSX, giving Mac users the opportunity to use some of those retro drum machine sounds.
DM1 for Mac OS Included 86 superb drum kits, a gorgeous fullscreen user interface for your desktop and laptop, an easy to use Duo FX Trackpads for real-time sonic destruction and multi-FX, DM1 for MAC OSX is fully compatible with DM1 for iPad, you can share files between them.
With Midi In & out, and separated tracks export, DM1 is ready to fit your digital audio workstation.
As a fan of the iOS app and a Logic user, they had me at hello. It’s priced at $4.99 (£2.99 in the UK) on the Mac App Store so grab yourself a bargain. For a list of all the features on the Mac version, go over to Synthtopia.
