Over lockdown, I started watching a lot of producer videos and Twitch streams. One of those was Freddie Joachim’s YouTube channel and this video shows the producer explaining how he mixes his drums and his “simple” mastering techniques. It’s a refreshing and demystifying look at two of the most difficult elements of music-making—mixing and mastering—and it might save you some money buying loads of plugins or hours trawling Reddit and SP forums looking for “how to mix drums like X”.
