For a man who keeps himself to himself, Madlib interviews are like gold dust and this is no exception. At Radio France’s vinyl archive in Paris, presenter Laura Leishman “unleashed” the West Coast producer onto RF’s bustling collection of vinyl in between questions about his record selections, his love of Sun Ra and just how many records Madlib owned himself (for those who don’t know, it’s about 4 tons. Of course, he picked out a Dilla record and the conversation soon moved onto his relationship with the late Detroit master of sampling.
