Darker Than Wax’s Luviia releases his new P2P Feelings EP.
Well, this was a nice surprise in my inbox. Luviia may come from a nation more associated with things like Taipei 101 and “Made In Taiwan“, but this far eastern star can easily kick it amongst the more well known Japanese beat makers from that region. For a start, he’s heavy on sampling, which we like just a smidge, and taking inspirations from Nujabes, Ohbliv and Dilla, Luviia has managed to craft a selection of finely cut beats. Tracks like the dark New York-styled Questions and boom bap frenzy Theme For “Shaft” tell you all you need to know about the Taiwanese producer and his talents. Samples and a SP-303. That’s all this dude needs.
