We’re only two days away from Thundercat’s new album Apocalypse and we’re incredibly excited for the release. To get you prepared, we thought we’d give you one of his best solo tracks to date. For Love I Come was originally a track by George Duke on his 1975 album The Aura Will Prevail. The main attraction was of course, his virtuoso keyboard play. Thundercat emulated the “aura” of the track brilliantly on his bass guitar, stripping away the more R&B style and turning it into a slower galactic wonderland. The build up is deep and luscious, with some vocals eerily identical to the original and then the outro is spectacular but you’ll probably wish it was longer. I did anyway.
