How Did I Miss That: Abe M Beats - Backchurch Freestyle

Backseat Freestyle

Abe M Beats put Kendrick Lamar’s Backseat Freestyle over a dope gospel flip and I can’t believe I missed it.

You can’t beat a good gospel sample. The likes of Black Milk, Thelonious Martin, and Apollo Brown know their way around a church choir. But Abe M Beats really took the congregation to church with this one.

Backchurch Freestyle is a holy mashup of Kendrick’s Backseat Freestyle and a gospel flip that shouldn’t work – given the explicit content – but it does. Maybe you’ll need your sins washed away after listening or need to seek the guidance of God. Who knows.

Also: this track is 3 minutes and 14 seconds long. 3:14. Matthew 3:14 says:

But John forbad him, saying, I have to need to be baptized of thee, and comest thou to me?

And Exodus 3:14 says:

God said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM. This is what you are to say to the Israelites: ‘I AM has sent me to you.'”

Coincidence? Yeah, it doesn’t mean anything. I was just trying to sound clever.

Stream it on SoundCloud and Eid Mubarak.
