Audio Dope – Anthophobia

Basel beatmaker Audio Dope releases a new EP called Anthophobia.

Anthophobia is described as “an abnormal and persistent fear of flowers”. An odd phobia and possibly an odd EP title but don’t let that distract you from the fantastic music. Audio Dope has been on my radar since I discovered his Beat Beast beat tape a year or so ago and it’s great to see the Swiss producer back to his best. This time around, he has changed up the style; from boom bap to psychedelic flurries of what they call “future” and “chillwave”. Genre names aside, the diversity of the music is apparent and well thought out, implemented perfectly with some great vocal samples, woozy synths and sharp percussion. You may not look at flowers in the same way again.
