Waajeed discusses hip hop, beats, PPP, the ladies and the Detroit sound while crate digging in this week’s Saturday Matinée.
Before Waajeed was shedding light onto the mystery behind Dilla beats, he was (and still is) a hip hop producer and what do hip hop producers like to do best? Crate dig. In 2006, Waajeed kicked it with midwesterngoodness at one of his favourite record spots, Melodies and Memories and spoke on hip hop, what he looks for in a record and even the ladies. Being a dollar bin/”cheap section” raider myself, I can totally relate to his digging ethic. Take note: don’t sleep on the wack shit. It might save your life/bank balance.
