I love music analysis videos and this is now one of my favourites. Captain Pikant’s did a half-hour analysis of Daft Punk’s drum patterns from Homework and Discovery and it’s amazing to hear how the rhythms were constructed, including some of the additional samples on top.
Unlike other videos I’ve posted that focus on the samples, this is more about the rhythmic element of Daft Punk’s work and how it forms an integral part of the French house aesthetic.
