Dr. Dre - The Chronic Christmas Commercials Death Row Records
We need more Christmas-themed commercials for rap album releases. Dr Dre had a few back in the 90s for his iconic debut, The Chronic. While most of them involved the album (on cassette I assume) on a Christmas tree with a female voice over, the last one in the video above shows Dre kissing his partner under the mistletoe… and a Jamaican male voiceover.
Genius marketing if you ask me.
