The late great J Dilla left us with an album that marked an end to a remarkable life. But not just any album – this one pretty much defined his character and changed the ways of our thinking of hip hop music as a genre. The box set includes the album on seven 45s and a bonus 45 with “Signs” from the out-of-print Donuts “Fan Club 45” b/w DOOM & Ghostface’s “Sniper Elite & Murder Goons”.
These two tracks were released digitally in 2008, but never made it onto vinyl until now. Side D also contains the “Donuts Outro/Intro” appearing as an interlude at the beginning of “The Diff’rence” which apparently dates back to the original sequence of the album. One of the best hip hop albums of all time being released onto vinyl is a joy to behold and will soon be a joy to listen to in all its crackling analogue glory.
Expected date of shipping is 7th January next year.
