The Library of Congress' National Recording Registry receives more Latin submissions for 2023

Mas musica latina, por favor!

Could this be entered into the Library of Congress’ National Recording Registry next year?

According to Axios, there are only 24 titles in the Library of Congress’ National Recording Registry by Latino or Hispanic artists. But thanks to the Congressional Hispanic Caucus (CHC), that number could increase. The organisation submitted 33 songs and albums for consideration in next year’s registry.

The list includes music by Juan Gabriel, Shakira, Rage Against the Machine, and José Feliciano. None of these artists are in the registry by the way. We’ll find out how many made it in late March/April.
