Miles Davis was in his bag for most of his career (some might say he never truly left it but that discussion is for another day and another blog post). For Classic Album Sundays’ My Classic Album series, Moses Boyd and Raj Chaudhuri dived into Miles’s 1968 album, ‘Nefertiti‘ with Boyd explaining why it meant so much to him.
“I just remember listening to it, and something about when I put this on changed everything — physically and mentally.”
He also touched on the then-new direction for Miles and his band members at the time: Wayne Shorter, Herbie Hancock, Ron Carter, and Tony Williams. The epitome of legendary.
