Q-Tip At Red Bull Music Academy NYC 2013

The Abstract aka Q-Tip dropped by the Red Bull Music Academy to talk at length about his illustrious career.

The minute I heard Q-Tip had done a lecture for the Red Bull Music Academy, I quickly dashed to source a video link. Alas, I had to wait a few days but it’s now up and ready for you to stream. The Queens emcee talks about his production history, including his Tribe days and how he was inspired by some of the greats along the way.

An interesting comment from Q-Tip was how he described his musicianship as “kindergarten-level”. Listening back to his discography, you’d wonder how he could downplay his talent that much but that just goes to show he’s still a student in the school of hip hop and we’re all in attendance.
