Reebok show love for the golden age with their Hip Hop Appreciation Pack, a selection of classic hip hop sneaker designs.
We’ve seen a whole heap of hip hop inspired sneakers (or “trainers” for the UK footwear fans amongst you) from the big brands – Nike’s and of course, Adidas’ iconic Superstar 80s. Reebok have joined the hype themselves with their Swizz Beatz range but it looks like they’ve taken it a step further with their latest “Hip Hop Appreciation Pack” for The Rail. Released last month as part of their Black History Month-themed range, the designs draw inspiration from the golden age hip hop artwork. No prizes for guessing where the red, black and green African designs came from (*cough* Tribe *cough*) but the blue pair might need a few more brain cells to figure out. Need a clue? Something about a Black Planet? The collection, comprised of their The Rail (blue, green, black) and Reebok’s Q96 (red, black, green) shoes, were released on 14th Februrary and can be found in limited stock in select outlets – the Q96s at Jimmy Jazz, City Gear and Expressions for $115 and the Rail at DTLR, Shiekh, Expressions, Eblens, DK Foot and Casual, and reebok.co.uk for $100. You can also head to Sneaker Politics to cop a pair.
