The UK hip hop scene has been in a state of rude health of late with quality music appearing across the entire UK spectrum. Up-and-coming Birmingham-based emcee Jack Jetson is certainly contributing to this resurgence with the release of his new single, Wonderberry, taken from his eagerly anticipated LP ‘Adventures of Johnny Strange’. The Leaf Dog-produced track is a slice of UK boom bap at its finest, seasoned with Jetson’s lyrical prowess. Bars such as “Johnny Strange the adventurer who’s gone insane/Mix a placenta in the blender with my rotted brain”, are heavy on the imagery and demonstrate a macabre inventiveness.
