Early this year, Man Bites Dog Records released a compilation called The Swashbuckler Vol. 1: The Viking Wars. With production predominately by Kount Fif and R.M.L., the feature list reads like the Who’s Who of underground hip hop talent: Copywrite, Roc Marciano, Torae, Planet Asia, Royce Da 5’9 and Heltah Skeltah and that’s just a few of the names. Well, now we have visuals for one of the tracks Arkansas Toothpick, featuring Roc Marciano and Jason Rose.
Directed by album producer R.M.L., the video is as gritty as you can get with a regular video camera. Roc, rolling into a project apartment with some Henessey and a gun holding up some coke heads. Then there’s Jason Rose working on a robot woman in white underwear. Strange aesthetics, maybe, but the craziness goes well with the haunting string-led sample.
