SATURDAY MATINÉE: All the Streets Are Silent

People sitting on a curb

Watch how hip hop and skateboarding converged over a 10 year period from the 80s to 90s.

All the Streets Are Silent is a documentary about the skate and hip hop scenes in New York from the late 80s to the late 90s (1987-1997 to be exact). Jeremy Elkin directs and Large Professor composed the score in case you needed further enticement.

It features mainly unseen footage and original interviews from:

  • Rosario Dawson
  • Fab 5 Freddy
  • Kool Keith
  • Darryl McDaniels from Run-D.M.C.
  • DJ Clark Kent
  • Kid Capri
  • Yuki Watanabe
  • Tek from Smif-N-Wessun
  • Stretch Armstrong
  • Dave Ortiz
  • Vinny Ponte
  • Dres from Black Sheep
  • Bobbito Garcia
  • A$AP Ferg

And plenty more.

The film isn’t available in the UK, US, or Canada (I didn’t check other countries so feel free) but it does appear to work in Brazil so get yourself a VPN. If you can’t stream it in full below, watch the trailer for now.
