I have over 100 albums on my Bandcamp wishlist that I’m slowly going through. Near the bottom was ‘yerba’, a gorgeous 11-track lo-fi album by California’s sleepdealer.
The album’s name comes from ‘yerba mate’, a caffeine-rich plant used in the popular South American drink, mate. Despite that, ‘yerba’ is very laid back and dreamy. The rhythms are loose but not completely out of pocket as to keep you relatively close to reality.
The album also features けm SURF if you needed any more incentive to listen.
