Shouts to Potholes for shining a light on this. Stik Figa is an emcee from Memphis but currently in Kansas. As you will hear below, he knows his way around the spoken word, developing a “unique and versatile skill set, combining detailed lyricism with a dirty south drawl”. Here’s what he had to say about the track.
“This cut, “Ends & Outs,” is a bit of nostalgia for me, I’ve always wanted to get on a track like that and do the lyrical exercise thing. When I heard the Black Milk beat, I was immediately drawn to the percussive elements first, and how it’s not something you hear much anymore. I was inspired by Outkast “Wailin” just a cut with dope beats and rhymes that’s fun to listen to, and rewind to make sure you caught everything.” – Stik Figa
The Ends & Outs will be out with the rest of the album, Central Standard Time, on 27th January 2017. Stream and pre-order it on Bandcamp.
