Madlib and Oh No join forces again as The Professionals with a new album out in January.
Holy crap, Batman! The greatest living Jackson brothers are back with a new LP.
Madlib and Oh No have collaborated before over the years but the first mention of them as “The Professionals” came in 2008 on Madlib’s WLIB AM: King of the Wigflip. Two more appearances in 2011 and 2019 followed but we’ll finally have a full album on 17th January 2020. Only a month away! Yes, it’s hard to believe another Madlib album will be out soon and on time (touchwood).
The beats will come from Otis Jr. and the raps from Michael, and features come courtesy of Elzhi, Chino XL, and Adub. Besides the incredible lineup, what really got my attention was the phenomenal cover. It’ll be all-black embossed with a die-cut LP cover designed by Gustavo Eandi & Jeff Jank. I’m gonna need to copies – one to play and one to hang up.
While we wait, here’s a cut called Superhumans.
