Rapsody – Kingship (Prod. DJ Premier)

rapsody-she-got-game

Rapsody rhymes over a dreamy 80’s-style beat from DJ Premier called Kingship.

One of the best female emcees out there right now is probably Rapsody. The 33-year old rapper has worked with some of the finest names in the business and having been a former member of Kooley High, Rapsody went solo and signed with 9th Wonder’s label It’s A Wonderful World Music Group in 2008. Her rise has never faltered since then and now she is embarking on a new project with Gangsta Grillz on She Got Game (hosted by DJ Drama). The production on the tape is most handled by labelmate 9th Wonder but for this track, Kingship, DJ Premier takes the reins with a very old school beat, full of background 808s and a dream pop-esque riff and Rapsody naturally jumps on it with the rich wordplay we’ve come to expect.
