Tokimonsta remixed Astrud Gilberto’s Corcovado into an intergalactic electronic masterpiece.
Both Tokimonsta and Astrud Gilberto have the ability to make you float away with their effortlessly elegant music. So when I was told that Tokimonsta had remixed Gilberto’s Corcovado, I had to check it out. My previous assumptions were confirmed within a few seconds as the airiness of Astrud Gilberto’s fluttered between the cloud-like synth chords of Tokimonsta. We’ve featured a few producers who have described their music as “ambient trap” and if I was to narrow this down to one genre, that would certainly be a consideration but this is far more ambient than it is trap; the multi-layered sound components are proof of that.
