Gnod is a self-adapting system that learns about the outer world by asking its visitors what they like and what they don’t like. In this instance of Gnod all is about music. It will ask you what music you like and then think about what you might like too.
In order to do this, Gnod asks you to type in three bands (I chose Jamiroquai, The Jackson 5 and Moloko) and based on your choices, it gives you an artist to consider. You then decide whether you like them, hate them or you’re not sure. This helps to refine the engine in future. Unfortunately, it only gives you one artist per three choices and I got Roisin Murphy who I know (and adore) already. My second attempt with Michael Jackson, Prince and Led Zeppelin gave me Janet Jackson. A third of Deep Purple, Ariana Grande and Frank Turner returned Biffy Clyro. A neat idea but perhaps more of a tool for casual music listeners rather than avid audiophiles.
