Jazz guitarist and beat maestro Go Yama remakes Flying Lotus’ Putty Boy Strut with his good ol’ guitar.

This is quite cool. San Diego-based guitarist Go Yama has remade Flying Lotus’s Putty Boy Strut, stripping the melody away and replacing it with his own guitar. The cover is almost a carbon copy in structure to the original before meandering into a really smooth jazzy riff at the end.

This isn’t the first time Go Yama has lent his instrumental skills to remakes of songs – he has also done guitar covers of FlyLo’s Do The Astral Plane and Miguel Atwood-Ferguson’s orchestral remake of Dilla/Tribe’s Find a Way. George Benson would surely approve.
