Imperial is the first guest in our new mini interview series.
It’s difficult to find a balance between long form and short form writing. Long form is extensive but takes time to read. Short form is quick to absorb but might not offer as much in comparison. We’ll never cease long form content but we appreciate readers might not have as much time to spend. So alongside our Bitiques, we’ve started a mini interview series. It doesn’t have a name yet (suggestions welcomed) but we do have a first guest. Imperial gave us a few answers to our 7-question format so read on!
What is your favourite city in the world?
NYC, I’ve only been once, but the vibe, hustle and food was incredible. After that, London.
What’s the most unusual item you take everywhere you go?
My trusty JVC earbuds go everywhere with me.
Why do you do what you do?
I love music. I love creating music. I believe we’re created to be creative.
When was the last time a song gave you goosebumps?
Just a few days back. Masta Ace & Marco Polo – Breukelen “Brooklyn”. The strings and vocal sample, over that piano is just straight goosebumps for me.
Where do you go to relax?
My studio.
Analog or digital?
If I had the money, analogue, but I don’t so I’m all digital but trying to meld a warm/saturated analogue aesthetic.
How do you say goodbye where you’re from?
See you later, dude.
Don’t forget, Imperial’s latest album “Layers” is out now, available at all good digital retailers.
