This has been sitting in my inbox for a few weeks so while I’m catching up on emails, I thought I’d share it with you all.
Uncut Gems, the latest album from Swedish producer Max I Million, is vastly different to the Adam Sandler film of the same name. It doesn’t induce a feeling of extreme anxiety after the first 10 minutes (or was that just me?) but instead blends “left-field creativity with boom-bap vibes”.
And it wouldn’t be a Coalmine Records release without some stonking drums and a mix of nostalgia and futurism; my kinda album!
“After a brief period of genre crossover releases, leaning towards jazz, funk, and electronica, I wanted to get back to the basics. Strictly hip-hop. Coalmine is all about that.”
Standout tracks include: ‘The Cat‘, ‘Jazzitorium‘, and piano-stuttering ‘Let Em Know‘.
The 12-track record is available on digital music platforms and on a limited edition blue and white splatter vinyl record which looks immense. Other merch includes slipmats, t-shirts and sweatshirts. Ambassador, you are spoiling us!
