UK producer Orion is our One To Watch today.
It’s a small world, isn’t it? While commenting on a Facebook friend’s status from Detroit, one of his friends also commented who happens to go to my university. He invited me to like his Facebook page and now we’re here. Orion (real name Ope Alayande) is a hip hop producer from London with a taste for the old school and a clear love of dusty drum breaks. His latest LP is called Alphas, a boom bap homage to the 90s sound. The jazzy rhythms and great sample choices are reminiscent of beat makers like Dilla and Pete Rock.
