Sade's E! Extreme Close Up Interview (1992)

Here’s Sade talking to E! about her 1992 album Love Deluxe, her origins, and the reasons behind her 4-year hiatus.

I hope you’re enjoying Black History Month. I’d be remiss if I didn’t post anything to celebrate it so here’s a throwback interview with Sade from 1992. For E!’s Extreme Close Up, she discussed her life, where her name came from, the interviewer called her “colored”, and the 4 year gap between Stronger Than Pride and Love Deluxe.

“[…] we’ve been on the road for quite a long time and and I think you just [sort of] you drift around in this sort of strange fantasy world and sometimes you just need to get back and live your life in order to really want to carry on with what you do.”
