Point Blank’s Ski Oakenfull shows you how to create a track from scratch using vinyl samples in this special guest post.
Point Blank’s Lead Course Developer Ski Oakenfull knows Ableton Live like the back of his hand – and he’s also an avid record collector and all round music nerd to boot. In Shop ‘n’ Chop, Point Blank asked Ski to head to Vinyl Pimp in Hackney, East London with one challenge: buy some choice vinyl cuts and create a track entirely from hand-picked samples from his haul. Luckily for you guys, Point Blank filmed the whole thing – what do you think of the results?
If you want to know Ableton Live as well as Ski Oakenfull does, Point Blank’s Music Production Master Diploma covers everything you need to take your productions to the next level. With modules drilling down into composition, mixing, sound design and more, it’s a comprehensive, creative and collaborative course which can be taken for up to 64 weeks. You can discover the full range of Point Blank’s courses in London, Los Angeles and online by heading to the Point Blank website.
