Musical tributes are commonplace in hip hop, whether they be in production or rap form. If the subject of the homage isn’t Dilla or Madlib, it’s usually 9th Wonder. On Take U There (A Tribute To 9th Wonder), TimeLess One gives us something wonderful and atmospheric, channelling the drums and thick bass lines of 9th along but also adding his own touches with the night time groove and searing strings throughout. His forthcoming album, “Give”, is set for release in December.
